Efforts to fulfil the commitments made at the twentieth special session of the General Assembly must be intensified.
وأضاف أنه يجب تكثيف الجهود الرامية إلى الوفاء بالالتزامات التي اضطُلِع بها في دورة الجمعية العامة الإستثنائية العشرين.

Speakers reaffirmed that international cooperation and the principle of shared responsibility were critical to efforts by States to fulfil the commitments they had undertaken at the twentieth special session of the General Assembly.
وأكّد المتكلّمون مجدّدا أن التعاون الدولي ومبدأ تقاسم المسؤولية أمران بالغا الأهمية للجهود التي تبذلها الدول للوفاء بالالتزامات التي تعهّدت بها في الدورة الإستثنائية العشرين للجمعية العامة.

28. Several representatives welcomed the fact that the third biennial report of the Executive Director indicated that considerable progress continued to be made by Member States towards meeting the goals set for 2008 at the twentieth special session of the General Assembly.
28- ورحّب عدّة ممثّلين بأن تقرير المدير التنفيذي الإثناسنوي الثالث أشار إلى أن الدول الأعضاء تواصل احراز تقدّم كبير صوب تحقيق الأهداف المحدّدة لعام 2008 في الدورة الإستثنائية العشرين للجمعية العامة.

Member States were encouraged to make greater efforts to fulfil their reporting obligations, to report fully on all measures agreed at the twentieth special session (in order to allow a thorough assessment of progress in the future) and to comply with the deadlines established.
وشُجِّعت الدول الأعضاء على بذل مزيد من الجهود للوفاء بالتزاماتها الإبلاغية، وعلى تقديم تقارير كاملة عن جميع التدابير التي اتفق عليها في الدورة الإستثنائية العشرين (لكي يتسنّى في المستقبل اجراء تقييم واف للتقدّم المحرز)، وعلى التقيّد بالمواعيد القصوى المقرّرة.

The momentum of the special session was to be maintained over the next three years and Member States were invited to build on the progress that had already been made and to strengthen efforts in those areas requiring further attention. Reference was also made to the fact that the Political Declaration adopted by the Assembly at its twentieth special session still remained valid.
وقيل إن الزخم الذي ولّدته الدورة الإستثنائية ينبغي أن يستمر في السنوات الثلاث القادمة، ودُعيت الدول الأعضاء إلى البناء على ما سبق احرازه من تقدّم وإلى تعزيز الجهود في المجالات التي تتطلّب مزيدا من الاهتمام، وأشير أيضا إلى أن الإعلان السياسي الذي اعتمدته الجمعية في دورتها الإستثنائية العشرين لا يزال صالحا.

Mr. Meyer (Brazil), speaking on behalf of the Rio Group, said that six years had passed since a firm commitment to overcome the world drugs problem had been expressed in the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Declaration emanating from the twentieth special session of the General Assembly.
63- السيد ماير (البرازيل): تكلم بالنيابة عن مجموعة ريو، فقال إنه قد مرّت ست سنوات على الإعراب في خطة العمل لتنفيذ الإعلان المنبثق من دورة الجمعية العامة الإستثنائية العشرين عن التزام قوي بالتغلب على مشكلة المخدرات في العالم.

23. At its 1253rd and 1254th meetings, on 9 March, the Commission considered agenda item 4, entitled " Follow-up to the twentieth special session of the General Assembly: general overview and progress achieved by Governments in meeting the goals and targets for the year 2008 set out in the Political Declaration adopted by the Assembly at its twentieth special session " .
