On this basis, my delegation, on behalf of the Arab Group, is requesting an urgent open debate of the Security Council today to examine the grave consequences of the ongoing Israeli military attacks against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

١ - إدانة الانتهاكات اﻹسرائيلية المستمرة لحقوق اﻹنسان في جنوب لبنان والبقاع الغربي، والمتمثلة في الخطف والاعتقال التعسفي للسكان المدنيين، وتدمير مساكنهم ومصادرة ممتلكاتهم وطردهم من أراضيهم، وقصف القرى والمناطق المدنية اﻵمنة.

The Agency was in a difficult situation as a result of Israel's continuing military operations in Palestinian population centres and refugee camps.
وقد أصبحت الوكالة في وضع صعب نتيجة للعمليات العسكرية الإسرائيلية المستمرة في المراكز السكانية الفلسطينية وفي مخيمات اللاجئين.

Faced with the customary Israeli fabrications and inventions and in the delicate situation in which the Middle East region finds itself owing to Israel's aggressive practices and its constant incursions and intrusions into the Palestinian territories, Lebanon would like to call attention to the points set forth hereunder.
يهم لبنان إزاء التلفيقات والافتراءات الإسرائيلية المعهودة وفي هذه الظروف الدقيقة التي تجتازها منطقة الشرق الأوسط بفعل الممارسات العدوانية والاجتياحات والاعتداءات الإسرائيلية المستمرة على الأراضي الفلسطينية، أن يلفت إلى ما يلي:

The Security Council must take measures to bring an immediate end to the continuing Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.
وينبغي لمجلس الأمن أن يتخذ تدابير لوضع حد فورا للجرائم الإسرائيلية المستمرة ضد الشعب الفلسطيني.
