In 2008, the ILO Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations (the ILO Committee of Experts) asked the Government to provide detailed information, including statistics disaggregated by sex, on the results achieved by projects to promote equality in the labour market.

In 2009, the ILO Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations expressed deep concern over the failure of the Government to conduct a full and independent inquiry into the allegations made relating to arrests of trade unionists, their torture and mistreatment while in detention, and continuing intimidation and interference.

27. In 2009, the ILO Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations (ILO Committee of Experts) requested immediate and effective measures to apply section 124 of the Criminal Code which makes trafficking in persons a criminal offence.
