One member suggested that the Committee's consideration of possible toxic interaction should be triggered by an indication in the scientific literature that a candidate chemical is part of a cocktail of chemicals in a given organism.

At its previous seven meetings, the Committee discussed how to approach any consideration of toxicological interactions when evaluating chemicals proposed for listing in the annexes to the Convention.

II. Methodologies for the consideration of toxicological interactions

The Stockholm Convention recognizes the need to address the simultaneous hazard of multiple chemicals and Annex E of the Stockholm Convention outlines that toxicological interactions involving multiple chemicals should be considered when assessing the hazard for endpoints or endpoints of concern.
