A series of workshops on Policy Development for Increased Participation of Women in Public Management was organized as part of an ongoing effort to assist Governments in developing and implementing administrative reform strategies.

In its agreed conclusions on the elimination of all forms of discrimination and violence against the girl child, adopted at its fifty-first session, the Commission urged Governments to develop and implement national legislation and policies prohibiting harmful customary practices or traditional practices, particularly female genital mutilation, and to prosecute the perpetrators of such practices.

(b) We urge all Governments to develop and implement policies for the creation and implementation of full employment and decent work with a living wage for parents, grandparents or other caregivers, especially those living in poverty, in order to allow them to properly attend to the survival and development of their children, with access to health care;
(ب) نحث كافة الحكومات على وضع وتنفيذ سياسات لتهيئة وإعمال العمالة الكاملة والعمل اللائق ذي الأجر الكافي لتكاليف المعيشة، للوالدين والجدين وغيرهم من مقدمي الرعاية، ولا سيما أولئك الذين يعيشون في فقر، بغية تمكينهم من الاعتناء ببقاء ونماء أطفالهم بطريقة ملائمة، مع الحصول على الرعاية الصحية؛

14. Encourages Governments to formulate and implement training programmes for their law enforcers, immigration officers and border officials, prosecutors and service providers with a view to sensitizing those public-sector workers to the issue of violence against women migrant workers and imparting to them the necessary skills and attitude to ensure the delivery of proper, professional and gender-sensitive interventions;

21. The Commission urged Governments to establish and implement policies for the procurement of environmentally sound and otherwise sustainable products and services to improve the environmental performance of their facilities and operations.

(b) Boosting absorptive capacities of domestic enterprises: All cases and examples examined in the previous chapter show that, in order to maximize technology dissemination, it is imperative for Governments to establish and implement policies that help enhance the absorptive and adaptive capacities of local firms.

In line with the " Three Ones " principles, their main role is to assist national Governments in the development and implementation of unified monitoring and evaluation systems.

International organizations, in particular financial institutions, should assist Governments in developing and implementing technical assistance programmes that helped buyers and sellers of technology to identify each other, reduced pre-investment costs by providing technical, financial, and legal expertise, and identified and supported projects that demonstrated and commercialized ESTs in specific sectors.
