The adoption, at the African Conference on the Use of Children as Soldiers in Maputo in April 1999, of a resolution aimed at the elaboration of an international convention outlawing the use of children under 18 years of age in armed conflicts, was also a good course of action for the protection and promotion of the rights of the child.
