33. In paragraph 16 of decision 3/COP.8, the COP requested the CRIC to finalize proposals for the performance review and assessment of the implementation of the Convention, and especially of The Strategy, including recommendations emanating from the CST, for discussion at COP 9.
33- في الفقرة 16 من المقرر 3/م أ-8، طلب مؤتمر الأطراف إلى لجنة استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية إتمام وضع المقترحات المتعلقة باستعراض الأداء وتقييم تنفيذ الاتفاقية، وبخاصة الاستراتيجية، بما في ذلك التوصيات الصادرة عن لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا، بغرض مناقشتها في الدورة التاسعة لمؤتمر الأطراف.

Recalling further decision 3/COP.8 by which the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC) is requested to finalize proposals for performance review and assessment of the implementation of the Convention and especially the 10-year strategic plan and framework to enhance the implementation of the Convention (2008 - 2018) (The Strategy),
وإذ يشير كذلك إلى المقرر 3/م أ-8 الذي طلَب فيه إلى لجنة استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية إتمام وضع المقترحات المتعلقة باستعراض الأداء وتقييم تنفيذ الاتفاقية، وبخاصة الخطة وإطار العمل الاستراتيجيان للسنوات العشر من أجل تعزيز تنفيذ الاتفاقية (2008-2018) (الاستراتيجية)،

This document was prepared in response to the request made by Parties in decision 3/COP.8 that the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC) finalize proposals for the performance review and assessment of the implementation of the Convention and especially the 10-year strategic plan and framework to enhance the implementation of the Convention (The Strategy).
أُعدّت هذه الوثيقة استجابة لطلب الأطراف بموجب المقرر 3/م أ-8 الذي يدعو لجنة استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية إلى إتمام وضع المقترحات المتعلقة باستعراض الأداء وتقييم تنفيذ الاتفاقية، وبخاصة الخطة وإطار العمل الاستراتيجيان للسنوات العشر من أجل تعزيز تنفيذ الاتفاقية (الاستراتيجية).

10. By its decision 12/COP.9, on the performance review and assessment of the implementation of the Convention and The Strategy, the COP decided that the CST should contribute to the work of the CRIC by reviewing and assessing scientific information from Parties and other reporting entities, in particular on impact indicators relating to strategic objectives 1, 2 and 3 of The Strategy.
10- وقرر مؤتمر الأطراف، في مقرره 12/م أ-9 المتعلق باستعراض الأداء وتقييم تنفيذ الاتفاقية والاستراتيجية، أن تساهم لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا في أعمال لجنة استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية عن طريق استعراض وتقييم المعلومات العلمية الواردة من الأطراف والكيانات الأخرى المبلغة، ولا سيما المعلومات المتعلقة بمؤشرات تقييم الأثر المتصلة بالأهداف الاستراتيجية 1 و2 و3 المحددة في الاستراتيجية.
