The first session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, held in June in Geneva, had provided another opportunity for stakeholders to exchange views on progress in implementing the Hyogo Framework for Action and identifying priorities for the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction system for 2008-2009.
