3. requests the CST, through the GoE, to develop consistent and relevant guidelines on utilizing benchmarks and indicators in the preparation of national reports and to provide guidance on the inclusion of benchmarks and indicators in the country profile;

2. requests the Committee on Science and Technology, the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention, the Global Mechanism and the secretariat to utilize the workplan in annex to this decision, organizing their work in a manner that is consistent with the provisions of the Convention and decisions taken by the eleventh session of the Conference of the Parties, and in line with the guidance outlined in The Strategy;
2- يطلب إلى لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا ولجنة استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية والآلية العالمية والأمانة الاستفادة من خطة العمل الواردة في مرفق هذا المقرر، بحيث تنظم عملها بطريقة تتسق مع أحكام الاتفاقية والمقررات التي اتخذتها الدورة الحادية عشرة لمؤتمر الأطراف، وتماشياً مع التوجيهات المبينة في الاستراتيجية؛

2. requests the Committee on Science and Technology, with the support of the secretariat, to continue to provide assistance for pilot impact-indicator tracking exercises at the national level and to report on lessons learned to the Conference of the Parties at its eleventh session;

18. requests the Committee on Science and Technology to focus its work on best practices relating to decision 13/COP.9 on the following three thematic topics (other topics may be included, if needed): (a) sustainable land management technologies, including adaptation; (c) desertification, land degradation and drought and sustainable land management monitoring and assessment/research; and (d) knowledge management and decision support;
18- يطلب إلى لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا أن تركز أعمالها المتعلقة بأفضل الممارسات المتصلة بالمقرر 13/م أ-9 على المواضيع الأساسية الثلاثة التالية (يمكن إدراج مواضيع أخرى حسب الحاجة): (أ) تكنولوجيات الإدارة المستدامة للأراضي، بما في ذلك التكيف؛ (ج) التصحر وتدهور الأراضي والجفاف والرصد والتقييم/البحث في مجال الإدارة المستدامة للأراضي؛ (د) إدارة المعارف ودعم القرار؛

4. requests the Committee on Science and Technology to update and review the list of disciplines every four years on the basis of the evolution of research on desertification/land degradation and drought, also including traditional and local knowledge, know-how and practices, and to ensure that it is aligned with United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) priority activities;
4- يطلب إلى لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا أن تحدث وتستعرض قائمة الاختصاصات كل أربع سنوات استناداً إلى تطور البحوث في مسائل التصحر/تدهور الأراضي والجفاف، وأن تدرج فيها أيضا المعارف التقليدية والمحلية، والدراية العملية والممارسات، وذلك لضمان تواؤمها مع أنشطة اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر التي تحظى بالأولوية؛

3. requests the Committee on Science and Technology to review the current list of disciplines, taking into account the Proposed International Standard Nomenclature for Fields of Science and Technology as well as the lists of disciplines used by the Parties at national level, and to update the list with new disciplines, including traditional and local knowledge, know-how and practices, as needed;
3- يطلب إلى لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا أن تستعرض القائمة الحالية للتخصصات، آخذة في الحسبان التسميات القياسية الدولية المقترحة لحقول العلم والتكنولوجيا() فضلاً عن قوائم التخصصات التي تستخدمها الأطراف على المستوى الوطني، وأن تحدِّث القائمة بإضافة تخصصات جديدة، بما في ذلك المعارف التقليدية والمحلية، والدراية العملية والممارسات، حسب الحاجة؛

3. requests the CST, the CRIC, the GM and the secretariat to utilize the workplans in the attached annex, organizing their work in a manner consistent with the provisions of the Convention and in line with the guidance outlined in The Strategy;

33. requests the CST to review the provisions of the report of the CRIC on participatory processes, benchmarks and indicators, early warning systems, research, technologies and knowledge and know-how, with a view to proposing appropriate scientific measures while taking into account progress made in this respect in the respective regions;

10 - يطلب إلى لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا إسداء المشورة في إطار المناقشة التي ستجريها لجنة استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية بشأن تقديم التقارير إلى الدورة التاسعة لمؤتمر الأطراف حول أفضل طريقة لقياس التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ الأهداف الاستراتيجية الأول والثاني والثالث المحددة في الاستراتيجية، وذلك بالاستناد، في جملة ما يمكن أن تستند إليه، إلى مداولات دورتها التاسعة ونتائجها؛
