A trust fund for electoral observation was set up in 1992 to finance, in whole or in part, electoral verification missions, preliminary or fact-finding missions in relation to requests for electoral assistance, the cost of required support in cases where follow-up of electoral process is requested and to provide coordination and support to the activities of other international observers.
