It had before it a note by the Secretary-General transmitting the report of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime on Statistics of drugs and drug use (E/CN.3/2004/6) and the background document entitled " The development and management of data and statistics with the objective of ensuring an empirical basis for policy-making in the field of international drug control " .
وكان معروضا عليها مذكرة مقدمة من الأمين العام يحيل بها تقرير مكتب الأمم المتحدة المعني بالمخدرات والجريمة عن إحصاءات المخدرات وتعاطي المخدرات (E/CN.3/2004/6) وورقة معلومات أساسية معنونة " إعداد وإدارة البيانات والإحصاءات بهدف ضمان قاعدة لرسم السياسات في ميدان المراقبة الدولية للمخدرات ترتكز على التجربة العملية " .
