ويثني مكتب خدمات الرقابة الداخلية على الإدارة لما حققته في العام الماضي من إنجازات تمثّلت في إنشاء وحدة دعم الوساطة، والاستعانة بمستشار كبير معني بالوساطة، وبدء تشغيل قاعدة بيانات صناع السلام التي هي أداة شاملة لإدارة المعارف في مجال الدبلوماسية الوقائية.

She commended the Department for its effort to improve the targeting of its products, services and activities aimed at interested audiences, both in terms of relevance and quality, and she encouraged it to pursue and intensify its evaluation efforts and make it a common feature of its activities.
وأثنت على الإدارة لما تقوم به من جهود لتحسين عملية توجيه منتجاتها وخدماتها وأنشطتها إلى الفئات المعنية من الجمهور، وذلك من حيث الملاءمة والنوعية، وشجعتها على مواصلة وتكثيف جهودها في مجال التقييم وجعله سمة مشتركة في جميع أنشطتها.

Speaking both as the representative of Ecuador and as Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee on a Comprehensive and Integral International Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights and Dignity of Persons with Disabilities, he said that every effort should be made to make the United Nations accessible to persons with disabilities, and he commended the Department for adopting measures to increase their access to the web site.
وبصفته ممثل إكوادور وفي الوقت نفسه رئيس اللجنة المخصصة لوضع اتفاقية شاملة ومتكاملة لحماية وتعزيز حقوق المعوقين وكرامتهم، قال إنه ينبغي بذل كل ما في الوسع لجعل الأمم المتحدة في متناول المعوقين، وأثنى على الإدارة لما اتخذته من تدابير لتيسير استعمالهم للموقع الشبكي.

68. Her delegation commended the Department for its efforts to promote Holocaust remembrance around the world noting that the " Holocaust and the United Nations outreach programme " had served as an effective tool for education and remembrance.
68 - وأضافت قائلة إن وفدها يثني على الإدارة لما تقوم به من جهود لتشجيع إحياء ذكرى ضحايا محرقة اليهود حول العالم، وأشارت إلى أن " برنامج التوعية بالمحرقة والأمم المتحدة " كان بمثابة أداة فعَّالة للتعلُّم والتذكر.

13. A speaker representing a large group commended the Department for its efforts in developing a more strategic approach to promoting global awareness and greater understanding of the work of the United Nations in priority areas.
13 - وبادرت متكلمة، تمثل هي أيضا مجموعة كبيرة، إلى الثناء على الإدارة لما تبذله من جهود في صوغ نهج أكثر اتصافا بالطابع الاستراتيجي لتعزيز الوعي العالمي بأعمال الأمم المتحدة في المجالات ذات الأولوية وزيادة الفهم لهذه الأعمال.

All speakers had commended the Department for its important work in maintaining and enriching the United Nations web site, which was of tremendous interest worldwide, and had supported the multilingual enrichment of the United Nations web site, which had played a significant role in the achievement of greater parity in all six official languages.
وقد أثنى كل المتكلمين على الإدارة لما تقوم به من عمل هام في إدارة وإثراء موقع الأمم المتحدة على الشبكة العالمية، الذي يحظى باهتمام هائل في جميع أنحاء العالم، وأعربوا عن تأييدهم لإثراء موقع الأمم المتحدة على الشبكة بعديد من اللغات، الأمر الذي يلعب دورا هاما في تحقيق مزيد من التكافؤ بين اللغات الرسمية الست.

XII.17 With regard to cooperation with other entities, the Advisory Committee commends the Department for fully involving United Nations agencies, funds and programmes in the process of selection of personnel for P-4 and P-5 posts in the field and ensuring the active participation of agencies, funds and programmes on relevant panels.
ثاني عشر-17 وفيما يتعلق بالتعاون مع الكيانات الأخرى، تثني اللجنة الاستشارية على الإدارة لما قامت به من إشراك الوكالات والصناديق والبرامج التابعة للأمم المتحدة إشراكا كاملا في عملية انتقاء موظفين لوظيفتين برتبة ف-4 و ف-5 في الميدان وضمان المشاركة الناشطة من الوكالات والصناديق والبرامج في أفرقة الخبراء ذات الصلة.

Several delegations stressed the importance of new technologies in disseminating information, and commended the Department for its initiatives in this area.
١٦ - وشددت عدة وفود على أهمية التكنولوجيات الجديدة في نشر المعلومات، وأثنت علـــى اﻹدارة لما قامت به من مبادرات في هذا المجال.

Many delegations commended the Department on its efforts in utilizing electronic media as an efficient and cost-effective method of implementing its work programme and felt that greater economies could be achieved through a greater concentration on such electronic media.
٢٣٨ - وأثنت وفود عديدة على اﻹدارة لما تبذله من جهود للاستفادة من الوسائل الالكترونية باعتبارها طريقة كفؤة وفعالة الكلفة لتنفيذ برنامج عملها ورأت أن باﻹمكان تحقيق مزيد من الوفورات من خلال زيادة التركيز على هذه الوسائل الالكترونية.
