III. Accreditation criteria and procedures for organizations without consultative status with the Economic and Social Council

Japan is of the view that cooperation between the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and relevant non-governmental organizations that do not have consultative status with the Council but are active in the field should not be excluded.

According to the decisions, NGOs and civil society entities which do not have consultative status with the Council but are accredited to WSIS may on an exceptional basis participate in the next two sessions of the Commission, on the understanding that they apply for consultative status with the Council.
