The international community must use all means at its disposal to ensure not just that key multilateral arms limitation and disarmament treaties are complied with, but also that we keep weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery out of the hands of terrorists and States which may support terrorists.

(c) Supporting the implementation of decisions, recommendations and programmes of action adopted by the conferences and meetings of States parties to various multilateral arms-limitation and disarmament agreements;

(c) Supporting the implementation of treaty obligations, as well as decisions, recommendations and programmes of action adopted by the conferences and meetings of States parties to various multilateral arms-limitation, disarmament and non-proliferation agreements;

Moreover, resources will be used for the purchase of specialized books and publications for the Disarmament Research and Reference Collection in order to provide up-to-date information for use by Member States in their negotiations on multilateral arms limitation and disarmament agreements, as well as by the substantive secretariat, research institutions and the general public.

(c) Supporting the implementation of decisions, recommendations and programmes of action adopted by the conferences and meetings of States parties to various multilateral arms limitation, disarmament and non-proliferation agreements;

(b) Progress was made with respect to the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons, namely, the adoption of the Protocol on Explosive Remnants of War, indicating the strengthening of the operation and implementation of multilateral arms limitation and disarmament treaties.

(a) Providing substantive and organizational support, including sound advice on historical background, procedures and practices, to the Conference on Disarmament and to conferences and meetings of States parties to various multilateral arms-limitation, disarmament and non-proliferation agreements;

Instability and unpredictable factors are clearly increasing in the domain of international security; non-traditional security threats are growing, the process of nuclear disarmament is arduous, multilateral arms-control and disarmament mechanisms are encountering obstacles, international counter-proliferation efforts are facing challenges, and the process of settling regional nuclear issues is suffering setbacks.
ومن الواضح أن عدم الاستقرار والعوامل المستعصية على التنبؤ في تزايد على مستوى الأمن الدولي؛ كما تتفاقم تهديدات الأمنية غير التقليدية؛ فيما تتعثر عملية نزع السلاح النووي، فضلا عن العقبات العديدة التي تعترض الآليات المتعددة الأطراف للحد من الأسلحة ونزع السلاح، كما تواجه الجهود الدولية لمكافحة الانتشار الكثير من التحديات، وتعاني عملية تسوية المسائل النووية من عدة نكسات.

China is ready and willing to join the nations of the world in continuing to hold high the banner of multilateralism, work towards the realization of a new security concept, further promote the multilateral arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation process, and make due contributions to the preservation of world peace and common development.
