ويعمل المنسّق الخاص بوصفه مسؤول التنسيق في الأمم المتحدة المعني بعملية السلام في الشرق الأوسط، بما فيها الجوانب الاجتماعية والاقتصادية لعملية السلام والمساعدة الإنمائية ذات الصلة التي تقدمها الأمم المتحدة للأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة والأردن والجمهورية العربية السورية ولبنان.

We welcome the systematic preparatory work by last year's Special Coordinator, Ambassador Palihakkara of Sri Lanka, and urge the members of the Conference to finalize the examination of the mandate he proposed.
ونحن نرحب بالأعمال التحضيرية المنهجية التي قام بها في العام الماضي المنسّق الخاص السفير باليهاكارا ممثل سري لانكا، ونحثّ أعضاء المؤتمر على استكمال بحث الولاية التي اقترحها.

If, as we hope, the post of Special Coordinator on this subject is recreated, the Chilean delegation will submit specific proposals through that channel.
