It has been working to assist small island developing States following the 1999 Special Ministerial Conference on Agriculture in Small Island Developing States, which was held at FAO headquarters.
وهي تعمل على مساعدة الدول الجزرية الصغيرة النامية إثر المؤتمر الوزاري الاستثنائي لعام 1999 عن الزراعة في الدول الجزرية الصغيرة النامية، الذي عقد في مقر الفاو.

We realize that not all countries in our region have fully achieved the MDGs. As part of our responsibility to ensure success in achieving the MDGs in our region, Indonesia recently held in Jakarta the Special Ministerial Meeting for the Millennium Development Goals Review in Asia and the Pacific: Run up to 2015.

4. In this context, we commit ourselves to the implementation of the Statement adopted by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Group of 77 and China, at the Special Ministerial Meeting held in Putrajaya, Malaysia on 29 May 2006.

We have here a principle that was reaffirmed in the final statement adopted at the Special Ministerial Meeting of the Group of 77 and China -- which is to say the large majority of the membership: 132 countries out of 192 -- held at Putrajaya, Malaysia, on 29 May 2006:

48. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) continued to carry out its general work to assist the small island developing States following the 1999 Special Ministerial Conference on Agriculture in Small Island Developing States, which was held at FAO headquarters.
