In Argentina, for example, in addition to judges and prosecutors a specialized agency, the Public Prosecutor's Office for Environmental Crimes Investigations (UFIMA), conducts preliminary investigations and leads the investigations into violations of Act No. 24,051 of 1991 on hazardous wastes and all cases of environmental crimes.
