Enhancing the capacity of the Unit to deal with system-wide evaluation is the right response to the calls made by the General Assembly in paragraph 8 of its resolution 63/311 and paragraphs 11 to 13 of its resolution 64/289 on the need to strengthen evaluation as a United Nations system function.
