8. The Commission welcomed the establishment by the twenty-third Meeting of States Parties of the open-ended working group on the conditions of service of the members of the Commission (see SPLOS/259, para. 26, and SPLOS/263, sect. VI.B).

12. At its thirty-second session, the Commission welcomed the establishment by the twenty-third Meeting of States Parties of the open-ended working group on the conditions of service of the members of the Commission (see SPLOS/259, para. 26, and SPLOS/263, sect. VI.B).

The Chair of the Commission, Lawrence Folajimi Awosika, made a statement providing information on the activities carried out by the Commission since the twenty-third Meeting of States Parties, drawing particular attention to the issue of the conditions of service of the members of the Commission.

The twenty-fourth Meeting of States Parties adopted a decision regarding the conditions of service of the members of the Commission (SPLOS/276), in which, inter alia, it reaffirmed the obligation of States under the Convention to defray the expenses of the experts they nominated to the Commission, including the provision of medical coverage.
واتخذ الاجتماع الرابع والعشرون للدول الأطراف مقررا بشأن شروط خدمة أعضاء اللجنة (SPLOS/276)، أكد فيه من جديد جملة أمور، منها التزام الدول بأن تتحمل، بموجب الاتفاقية، نفقات الخبراء الذين رشحتهم لعضوية اللجنة، بما في ذلك توفير التغطية الطبية.

9. The Chair informed the Commission about an informal meeting that had been held on the margins of the thirty-fourth session of the Commission between the Coordinators of the Open-ended Working Group established by the Meeting of States Parties on the conditions of service of the Commission (see SPLOS/263, para. 77) and the Bureau of the Commission.
