The secretariat of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, together with the secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity and in collaboration with the secretariat of the Framework Convention, organized a workshop in Viterbo, Italy, in April 2004 on promoting synergy among the three conventions in regard to forests and forest ecosystems.

13. The Conference of the Parties and/or the respective subsidiary bodies of each convention called upon the Joint Liaison Group to explore options for further cooperation among the three conventions.7
