At the initiative of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Economy for the Reconstruction of Gaza was convened in Sharm el-Sheikh on 2 March 2009, chaired by Egypt and co-chaired by Norway, in order to respond to the early recovery and reconstruction needs of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip in the aftermath of Israel's military offensive.

During the International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Economy for the Reconstruction of Gaza, held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on 2 March 2009, donors pledged approximately $4.5 billion to support the needs of the Palestinian people that were expressed through the above-mentioned documents.
وخلال انعقاد المؤتمر الدولي لدعم الاقتصاد الفلسطيني لإعادة إعمار قطاع غزة، الذي عُقد في شرم الشيخ، بمصر، في 2 آذار/مارس 2009، تعهدت الجهات المانحة بدفع نحو 4.5 بلايين دولار لدعم احتياجات الشعب الفلسطيني التي جرى الإعراب عنها من خلال الوثائق المذكورة أعلاه.

In this regard, we welcome the successful convening and conclusion of the international conference on the Reconstruction of Gaza, hosted by Egypt and Norway in Cairo, and express our hope that the generous donations pledged will be rapidly disbursed for the urgently needed reconstruction to commence under the supervision of the Palestinian National Consensus Government in collaboration with the United Nations.
وفي هذا الصدد، نرحب بنجاح عقد واختتام المؤتمر الدولي لإعادة إعمار قطاع غزة الذي استضافته مصر والنرويج في القاهرة، معربين عن أملنا في أن تُصرف على وجه السرعة التبرعات السخية المتعهد بها للشروع في أعمال إعادة الإعمار التي تمس الحاجة إليها تحت إشراف حكومة الوفاق الوطني الفلسطينية وبالتعاون مع الأمم المتحدة.

(a) The international community to provide humanitarian aid and assistance for the Reconstruction of the Gaza Strip following the Israeli military operation, and to offer financial contributions to United Nations agencies, including the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, to enable them to carry out their mandates effectively;
(أ) المجتمع الدولي إلى تقديم المعونة والمساعدة الإنسانية لإعادة إعمار قطاع غزة في أعقاب العملية العسكرية الإسرائيلية، وتقديم المساهمات المالية إلى وكالات الأمم المتحدة، بما في ذلك وكالة الأمم المتحدة لإغاثة وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين في الشرق الأدنى، لتمكينها من الاضطلاع بولايتها بفعالية؛

At the International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Economy for the Reconstruction of Gaza, held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on 2 March 2009, at which the Palestinian Authority presented the Palestinian National Early Recovery and Reconstruction Plan for Gaza 2009-2010, total pledges amounted to some $4.5 billion for the West Bank and Gaza, in addition to $0.7 billion in reconfirmed past pledges.
82 - وخلال المؤتمر الدولي لدعم الاقتصاد الفلسطيني لإعادة إعمار قطاع غزة، المعقود في 2 آذار/مارس 2009 في شرم الشيخ، بمصر، الذي قدمت فيه السلطة الفلسطينية الخطة الوطنية الفلسطينية للإغاثة المبكرة وإعادة الإعمار لغزة للفترة 2009-2010، بلغ إجمالي التعهدات نحو 4.5 بليون دولار للضفة الغربية وغزة بالإضافة إلى 0.7 بليون دولار من التعهدات السابقة التي أعيد التأكيد عليها.
