5. On 27 July 1993, the Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations addressed a note verbale to the Secretary-General, the text of which reads as follows:

2. In accordance with article 8, paragraph 3, of the Convention, the Secretary-General, in a note verbale dated 15 September 1999, invited the States parties to submit their nominations for the election of nine members of the Committee within two months.
2- وطبقاً للفقرة 3 من المادة 8 من الاتفاقية، دعا الأمين العام الدول الأطراف، في مذكرة شفهية مؤرخة في 15 أيلول/سبتمبر 1999، إلى أن تقدم، في غضون شهرين، ترشيحاتها لانتخاب تسعة أعضاء في اللجنة.

2. In accordance with these requests, the Secretariat, on 28 June 1999, addressed a note verbale to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel and to all other Governments requesting information pertaining to the implementation of the resolution by the Government of Israel.
2- ووفقا لهذه الطلبات، وجهت الأمانة في 28 حزيران/يونيه 1999 مذكرة شفهية إلى وزير خارجية إسرائيل وإلى جميع الحكومات الأخرى طلبت فيها معلومات تتصل بتنفيذ حكومة إسرائيل لهذا القرار.

The SecretaryGeneral had complied with this request by sending a note verbale dated 29 October 1999 to all States Members of the United Nations.

In this connection a note verbale dated 4 November 1997 was sent by the Chairman of the Committee to Member States requesting the information.
