It was generally emphasized that there was a need to review and refine the existing bilateral and subregional transit agreements in order to take into account recent developments in the transit system, such as the expansion of existing facilities, the establishment of inland container terminals (dry ports) and the use of new transit routes by rail, road and inland waterways.
وتم التأكيد عموما على أن اتفاقات المرور العابر الثنائية ودون اﻹقليمية القائمة تحتاج إلى مراجعة وصقل كي تأخذ في الحسبان التطورات اﻷخيرة في نظام المرور العابر مثل توسيع المرافق القائمة وإقامة محطات داخلية للحاويات )موانئ جافة( واستخدام طرق جديدة للنقل العابر بالسكك الحديدية، والطرق البرية والمجاري المائية الداخلية.
