Also requests the Secretary-General to report to the Committee on Information at its twentieth session, and to the General Assembly at its fifty-third session, on United Nations public information activities, and on the implementation of the measures regarding information and communications approved by the Assembly;
٦ - تطلب أيضا إلى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم تقريرا إلى لجنة اﻹعلام في دورتها العشرين، والى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثالثة والخمسين، عن تنفيذ التدابير المتعلقة باﻹعلام والاتصال التي أقرتها الجمعية؛

(f) The Security Council could authorize the Secretariat to commission an expert study focusing on possible ways of tracing violations of the measures regarding arms trafficking, oil supply and the diamond trade, as well as the movement of UNITA funds.

28. The majority of delegations voiced their support for the report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of the measures regarding information and communications and agreed that it would serve as a very useful basis for the Committee’s deliberations.
٨٢ - وأعربت أغلبية الوفود عن تأييدها لتقرير اﻷمين العام بشأن تنفيذ التدابير المتعلقة باﻹعلام والاتصال ووافقت على أن التقرير أساس نافع للغاية لمداولات اللجنة.

Upon reviewing a report on the implementation of the measures regarding the control and limitation of documentation, the Committee had recommended that the General Assembly should consider the advisability of inviting intergovernmental bodies to reduce the length of their reports from 32 to 20 pages over a period of time.
وعند استعراض تقرير بشأن التدابير المتعلقة بمراقبة الوثائق والحد منها، أوصت اللجنة بأن تنظر الجمعية العامة في استصواب دعوة الهيئات الحكومية الدولية إلى تخفيض طول قراراتها من ٣٢ صفحة إلى ٢٠ صفحة في غضون فترة زمنية معينة.

The present report is submitted to the Committee on Information in accordance with General Assembly resolution 52/70 B of 10 December 1997, in which the Assembly asked me to report to the Committee on the implementation of the measures regarding information and communications approved by the Assembly.
يقدم هذا التقرير إلى لجنة اﻹعلام وفقا لقــرار الجمعية العامــة ٥٢/٧٠ باء المؤرخ ١٠ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٧، الذي طلبت فيه الجمعية إلى اﻷميــن العام أن يقدم تقريرا إلى اللجنة عن تنفيذ التدابير المتعلقة باﻹعلام والاتصال التي أقرتها الجمعية.

1. In its resolution 52/70 B of 10 December 1997, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report to the Committee on Information at its twentieth session, and to the Assembly at its fifty-third session, on United Nations public information activities and on the implementation of the measures regarding information and communications approved by the Assembly.
١ - طلبت الجمعية العامة إلى اﻷمين العام، في قرارها ٥٢/٧٠ باء المؤرخ ١٠ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٧، أن يقدم تقريرا إلى لجنة اﻹعلام في دورتها العشرين، وإلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثالثة والخمسين، عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹعلامية، وعن تنفيذ التدابير المتعلقة باﻹعلام والاتصال التي أقرتها الجمعية.

7. The report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of the measures regarding information and communications focuses on a new orientation towards spreading the message of the United Nations, and the appointment of an Under-Secretary-General to head the Department is a clear signal of the intention to develop a culture of communications throughout the Organization.
٧ - إن تقرير الأمين العام عن تنفيذ التدابير المتعلقة بالإعلام والاتصال يركز على توجه جديد نحو نشر رسالة الأمم المتحدة، وتعيين وكيل للأمين العام لتولي رئاسة الإدارة إنما ينهض علامة واضحة على انعقاد النية على غرس ثقافة للاتصال في المنظومة بأسرها.

In his report of 17 January 1999 (S/1999/49), the Secretary-General suggested, inter alia, that the Council could commission an expert study focusing on possible ways of tracing violations of the measures regarding arms trafficking, oil supply and the diamond trade, as well as the movement of UNITA funds.
واقترح الأمين العام، في تقريره المؤرخ 17 كانون الثاني/يناير 1990 (S/1999/49) أنــه يمكن لمجلس الأمن أن يأمر بإجراء دراسة على يــد خبراء تركز على السبل الممكنة لتعقب الانتهاكات التي تحدث للتدابير المتعلقة بتهريب الأسلحة وتوريد النفط وتجارة الماس فضلا عن حركة أموال يونيتا.
