United Nations human rights activities were based on objective rights which human beings enjoyed by the very fact of being human.

4. Decides that the High Commissioner for Human Rights will be the United Nations official with principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General.
٤ - تقرر أن يكون المفوض السامي لحقوق اﻹنسان هو مسؤول اﻷمم المتحدة الذي يتحمل المسؤولية الرئيسية عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان في ظل توجيه وسلطة اﻷمين العام.

16. The General Assembly in resolution 48/141 charged the High Commissioner with leadership responsibility for all United Nations human rights activities.
١٦ - كلفت الجمعية العامة، في القرار ٤٨/١٤١، المفوض السامي بالمسؤولية الرئيسية عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان.

The workshop, for which extrabudgetary resources will be sought, will assess the impact of the first meeting and consider further strategies required to integrate a gender perspective into United Nations human rights activities.
وستتولى حلقة العمل، التي ستُلتمس موارد من مصادر خارجة عن الميزانية لتمويلها، تقييم اﻷثر الذي حققه الاجتماع اﻷول، والنظر في الاستراتيجيات اﻷخرى التي يتطلبها إدماج منظور نوع الجنس في أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان.

Following a recommendation of the Conference, the General Assembly, in its resolution 48/141 of 20 December 1993, created the post of High Commissioner for Human Rights and assigned to the High Commissioner principal responsibilities for United Nations human rights activities under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General.
وبناء على إحدى توصيات المؤتمر، قامت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها ٤٨/١٤١ المؤرخ ٢٠ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٣، بإنشاء منصب المفوض السامي لحقوق اﻹنسان، وكلفت المفوض السامي بأن يتحمل المسؤولية الرئيسية، في ظل توجيه وسلطة اﻷمين العام، عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان.

In the same resolution the General Assembly also decided that the High Commissioner shall be the official with " principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General " .
وفي القرار نفسه، قررت الجمعية العامة أن يكون المفوض السامي هو المسؤول " الذي يتحمل، في ظل توجيه وسلطة اﻷمين العام، المسؤولية الرئيسية عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان " .

21. In paragraph 4 of its resolution 48/141, the General Assembly decided that the High Commissioner for Human Rights would be the United Nations official with principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General.
٢١ - قررت الجمعية العامة في الفقرة ٤ من قرارها ٤٨/١٤١ أن يكون المفوض السامي لحقوق اﻹنسان هو مسؤول اﻷمم المتحدة الذي يتحمل، في ظل توجيه وسلطة اﻷمين العام، المسؤولية الرئيسية عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان.

General Assembly resolution 48/141, establishing the post of High Commissioner, provides that the High Commissioner shall be the United Nations official with principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General.
وينص قرار الجمعية العامة ٤٨/١٤١ المنشئ لمنصب المفوض السامي على أن يكون المفوض السامي هو مسؤول اﻷمم المتحدة الذي يتحمل، في ظل توجيه وسلطة اﻷمين العام، المسؤولية الرئيسية عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان.

35.12 At the same session, the General Assembly also established the post of United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights as the United Nations official with principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities, under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General (resolution 48/141 of 20 December 1993).
٣٥-١٢ وأنشأت الجمعية العامة أيضا في الدورة ذاتها منصب مفوض اﻷمم المتحدة السامي لشؤون اﻹنسان بوصفه مسؤول اﻷمم المتحدة الذي يتحمل، في ظل توجيه وسلطة اﻷمين العام، المسؤولية الرئيسية عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان )القرار ٨٤/١٤١ المؤرخ ٢٠ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٣(

(c) Decide that the High Commissioner for Human Rights will be the United Nations official with principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General; within the framework of the overall competence, authority and decisions of the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council and the Commission on Human Rights, the High Commissioner's responsibilities would be:
