The Ad hoc Joint Working Group on Enhancing Cooperation and Coordination among the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions met three times and developed a recommendation for transmittal to the conferences of the Parties to the three conventions.

Decisions of the ExCoPs of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions request the review of the synergies process by UNEP and the Secretariats and report to CoPs in 2011 and 2013.
تطلب مقررات الاجتماعات الاستثنائية لمؤتمرات الأطراف في اتفاقيات بازل وروتردام واستكهولم أن يعيد برنامج البيئة والأمانة للنظر في عملية التآزر ويقدِّما تقريراً إلى مؤتمرات الأطراف في كل من عامي 2011 و 2013.

The report of the review of the synergies arrangements to be presented to the conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions at their meetings in 2017 will include the following elements:

Requests the Executive Director of UNEP, in consultation with the Director-General of FAO, through the Executive Secretary, to report to the conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions at their ordinary meetings in 2013 on the implementation of the present section of the present decision;
3 - يطلب إلى المدير التنفيذي لبرنامج البيئة، بالتشاور مع المدير العام لمنظمة الأغذية والزراعة، وعن طريق الرئيس المشتركالأمين التنفيذي، تقديم تقرير إلى مؤتمرات الأطراف في اتفاقيات بازل وروتردام واستكهولم في اجتماعاتها العادية في عام 2013 بشأن تنفيذ هذا الفرع من المقرر الحالي؛

30. Requests the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme, in consultation with the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, through the Executive Secretary, to report to the conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions at their meetings in 2013 on the implementation of the present decision.

At its second meeting the joint working group considered documents serving as thought starters prepared during the intersessional period by members of the joint working group and the secretariats, and prepared elements and rationale of draft possible recommendations to be made to the conferences of the Parties to the three Conventions.
12 - نظر الفريق العامل المشترك في اجتماعه الثاني في وثائق تستخدم لشحذ التفكير أعدها أثناء الفترة ما بين الاجتماعات أعضاء الفريق العامل المشترك والأمانات، وأعد عناصر وسندا منطقيا لمشروع التوصيات المحتملة التي تقدم إلى مؤتمرات الأطراف في الاتفاقيات الثلاث.

Requests the secretariats of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions to promote programmatic cooperation on cross-cutting issues, including in the area of technology transfer and capacity-building, in the development of their respective work programmes and to report thereon to the conferences of the Parties to the three conventions;
13 - يطلب إلى أمانات اتفاقيات بازل وروتردام واستكهولم أن تنهض بالتعاون البرنامجي بشأن القضايا الشاملة، بما في ذلك ما يتم في مجال نقل التكنولوجيا وبناء القدرات، وفي وضع برامج عمل كل منها وتقديم تقارير عن ذلك إلى مؤتمرات الأطراف في الاتفاقيات الثلاث؛

In reference to the request in paragraph 12, the resources to provide the required support to the conferences of the Parties to the two conventions were included in the programme budget for the biennium 2008-2009 under section 2, General Assembly and Economic and Social Council affairs and conference management and section 16, International drug control, crime and terrorism prevention and criminal justice.

The Chair noted that the authority to take action with regard to combining the meetings of the two groups lay with the conferences of the parties to the two conventions, while the working groups could make recommendations to that effect only for the consideration of the conferences.
