I am referring to the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal, the United Nations Compensation Commission, the Claims Resolution Tribunal for Dormant Accounts and the Real Property Claims Commission, Bosnia, to mention four.

As part of its efforts to strengthen oversight within the United Nations system, OIOS has concluded memoranda of understanding for the provision of internal audit services to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR); the International Trade Centre/ UNCTAD/WTO; and the United Nations Compensation Commission.

While funds have been dispersed to the United Nations Compensation Commission and the United Nations Special Commission and reserved for other purposes, the United Nations Sanctions Committee has so far approved only two contracts for the purchase of desperately needed food, i.e. one contract for US$ 50 million worth of Australian wheat and another contract for US$ 21 million worth of Thai rice.

54. The United Nations Compensation Commission, which was created by the Security Council to compensate for losses suffered as a result of Iraq’s unlawful invasion of Kuwait in 1990, recognized sexual violence as a compensable war-related harm.
٥٤ - وسلمت لجنة التعويضات التابعة لﻷمم المتحدة، التي أنشأها مجلس اﻷمن للتعويض عن الخسائر التي تم تكبدها نتيجة لغزو العراق غير المشروع للكويت في عام ١٩٩٠ بأن العنف الجنسي ضرر متصل بالحرب يستحق التعويض)٨(.

Apart from servicing the established bodies of the Office, the Palais des Nations was host to important political and peace-keeping related meetings, such as the International Conference on the Former Yugoslavia, the United Nations Compensation Commission, the Indonesia-Portugal meeting on East Timor, the meeting of the GeorgiaAbkhazia and the Nagorny Karabakh parties and the talks on Yemen.
