1. The present report is submitted in response to a request made by the General Assembly in part XVII of its resolution 61/222 on oceans and the law of the sea.

The following year, the General Assembly in section XVII of its resolution 46/185 C accepted the Secretary-General's proposal for a provision of $850,000 as another subvention to IDEP for the continuance of the four key posts.
وفي السنة التالية، وافقت الجمعيـة العامـــة فــي الجزء السابع عشر من قرارها ٤٦/١٨٥ على اقتراح اﻷمين العام رصد اعتماد قدره ٠٠٠ ٨٥٠ دولار كإعانة أخرى للمعهد كي تستمر الوظائف الرئيسية اﻷربع.

56. Requests the Secretary-General to consider extending the application of section XVII of General Assembly resolution 36/235 of 18 December 1981, regarding language training for all the main United Nations duty stations, and to report thereon to the Assembly at its fifty-first session;
٦٥ - تطلب إلى اﻷمين العام النظر في توسيع تطبيق الجزء السابع عشر من قرار الجمعية العامة ٢٦/٢٣٥ المؤرخ ١٨ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٨١، بشأن التدريب اللغوي في جميع مراكز العمل الرئيسية لﻷمم المتحدة، وتقديم تقرير عن ذلك إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الحادية والخمسين؛

50. In section XVII, paragraph 1, of resolution 59/296, the General Assembly requested the Department of Peacekeeping Operations to ensure that all missions implement an assets replacement programme in a cost-effective manner and in strict compliance with the guidelines on the life expectancy of assets.
50 - طلبت الجمعية العامة إلى إدارة عمليات حفظ السلام، في الفقرة 1 من الجزء السابع عشر من القرار 59/296، أن تكفل قيام جميع البعثات بتنفيذ برنامج لاستبدال الأصول بطريقة فعالة من حيث التكلفة وبالامتثال الدقيق للمبادئ التوجيهية المتعلقة بالعمر المتوقع للأصول.

51. In section XVII, paragraph 2, of its resolution, the General Assembly requested the Secretariat to ensure that the heads of the peacekeeping operations take effective measures to ensure inventory control, replenishment of stocks and reasonable write-off procedures for the disposal of assets no longer required or useful.
51 - وطلبت الجمعية العامة إلى الأمانة العامة، في الفقرة 2 من الجزء السابع عشر من قرارها، كفالة أن يتخذ رؤساء عمليات حفظ السلام تدابير فعالة لضمان مراقبة الموجودات وتجديد المخزون وإجراءات الشطب الرشيد لتصريف الأصول التي لم تعد هناك حاجة إليها أو التي أصبحت عديمة الفائدة.

52. In section XVII, paragraph 3, of resolution 59/296, the General Assembly requested the Secretariat to ensure that formal written agreements are in place, including elements such as financial reimbursement and liability, with other United Nations bodies before loaning out to them resources belonging to a peacekeeping operation.
52 - وطلبت الجمعية العامة إلى الأمانة العامة، في الفقرة 3 من الجزء السابع عشر من القرار 59/296، كفالة تطبيق الاتفاقات المكتوبة الرسمية التي تشمل عناصر مثل تسديد التكاليف المالية والمسؤولية المالية مع هيئات الأمم المتحدة الأخرى قبل إقراضها الموارد العائدة لإحدى عمليات حفظ السلام.

In section XVII, paragraph 16, of the same resolution, the Assembly decided to approve resources equivalent to seven general temporary assistance positions at the P-4 level for 2011, of which five were to be funded from within existing resources; additional resources equivalent to two positions at the P-4 level were appropriated.
وفي الفقرة 15 من الجزء السابع عشر من القرار نفسـه، قررت الجمعية العامة الموافقة على موارد من المساعدة المؤقتة العامة تعادل سبع وظائف في الرتبة ف-4 لعام 2011، يمول خمس منها من الموارد الموجودة؛ كما خصصت موارد إضافية تعادل وظيفتين في الرتبة ف-4.

37. In section XVII, paragraph 14, of its resolution 65/259, the General Assembly authorized the Secretary-General to proceed with the implementation of project 3 ( " Rationalize the ICT organization " ) and decided that $1.5 million should be provided from within the resources approved for the biennium 2010-2011.
37 - أذنت الجمعية العامة للأمين العام في الفقرة 14 من الجزء السابع عشر من قرارها 65/259، بالمضي قُـدما في تنفيذ المشروع 3 ( " ترشيد تنظيم تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات " )، وقررت أن توفـر لـه مبلغ 1.5 مليون دولار من الموارد الموافق عليها لفترة السنتين 2010-2011.

17. Mr. Sach (Controller), referring to section XVII of draft resolution A/C.5/61/L.49, said it was his understanding that the provisions of paragraph 6 would be implemented in all peacekeeping missions, in accordance with mission-specific and other relevant resolutions.
