38. In section III of its resolution 60/266 and again in section VI of resolution 61/276, the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to ensure full utilization of synergies present in the United Nations system and to develop an effective evaluation mechanism for the use of outside expertise.

The Committee will recall that, in section III of its resolution 47/214 of 23 December 1992, the Assembly endorsed the conclusions and recommendations of the Committee for Programme and Coordination at its thirty-second session on the question of programme evaluation in the United Nations and urged the Secretary-General to improve the methodology for self-evaluation.

142. In section III of its resolution 55/258, the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit his definitive proposals, in accordance with the steps outlined in paragraph 50 of his report, on new contractual arrangements, spelling out the differences between existing and proposed types of appointments, for consideration by the Assembly.
142 - وطلبت الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام في الجزء ثالثا من قرارها 55/258، أن يقدم مقترحاته النهائية، المتعلقة بالترتيبات التعاقدية الجديدة، وفقا للخطوات المبينة في الفقرة 50 من تقريره، موضحا الفروق بين أنواع التعيينات القائمة والمقترحة كي تنظر فيها الجمعية العامة.

15. In section III of its resolution 60/255, the General Assembly had recognized the end-of-service accrued benefit liabilities reported by the Secretary-General and requested that he should take the necessary steps to disclose those liabilities in the United Nations financial statements.

59. Prior to the adoption of General Assembly resolution 63/262, an interim skeleton team was put in place to undertake preparatory activities under an ad hoc arrangement, drawing on the limited budgetary discretion of the Secretary-General approved by the Assembly in section III of its resolution 60/283.

In paragraph 4 of section III of its resolution 55/222, the General Assembly invited intergovernmental bodies, during their organizational sessions or other appropriate periods before the commencement of their substantive work, to review with author departments the question of the availability of documentation for the proper functioning of those bodies, and to report thereon to the Assembly at its fifty-sixth session through the Committee.

The Council is reminded that the General Assembly, in section III of its resolution 3392 (XXX) on the review of the intergovernmental and expert machinery dealing with the formulation, review and approval of programmes and budgets, encouraged Member States to be represented in the Committee for Programme and Coordination at an adequate level in order to raise the expertise of the Committee.
2 - ويسترعى انتباه المجلس إلى أن الجمعية العامة، في الجزء ثالثا من قرارها 3392 (د - 30) بشأن إجراء دراسة استعراضية للأجهزة الحكومية الدولية والمؤلفة من الخبراء التي تعالج شؤون إعداد البرامج والميزانيات واستعراضها وإقرارها، شجعت الدول الأعضاء على أن يكون تمثيلها في لجنة البرنامج والتنسيق بمستوى مناسب بغية رفع مستوى الخبرة الفنية في هذه اللجنة.

2. The Council is reminded that the General Assembly, in section III of its resolution 3392 (XXX) on the review of the intergovernmental and expert machinery dealing with the formulation, review and approval of programmes and budgets, encouraged Member States to be represented in the Committee for Programme and Coordination at an adequate level in order to raise the expertise of the Committee.
2 - ويسترعى انتباه المجلس إلى أن الجمعية العامة شجعت، في الجزء ثالثا من قرارها 3392 (د-30) المتعلق باستعراض الآلية الحكومية الدولية وآلية الخبراء المعنية بوضع البرامج والميزانيات واستعراضها وإقرارها، الدول الأعضاء على أن يكون ممثلوها في لجنة البرنامج والتنسيق بمستوى مناسب من أجل رفع مستوى الخبرة لدى اللجنة.
