4. Calls for work under the Indonesian-Swiss country-led initiative to continue with a view to developing options and devising recommendations for consideration and possible adoption by the Conference of the Parties at its tenth meeting.

The parties, however, may wish to adopt decisions that might require increased funding. In particular, the Indonesian-Swiss country-led initiative to improve the effectiveness of the Basel Convention or the strategic framework decisions, if adopted, offers the possibility of significantly developing the work of the Convention but could require funding beyond what might be available in a flat growth budget.

In addition, in decision BC-10/3 on the Indonesian-Swiss country-led initiative to improve the effectiveness of the Basel Convention, in Section D on further strengthening the Basel Convention regional and coordinating centres, the Conference of the Parties requested parties to integrate the following activities into the plan for the development of the centres for the implementation of the Basel Convention:

Mr. Alberto Capra (Argentina), in his capacity as co-chair of the expert working group, reported on the progress made under the group's mandate to further elaborate and implement actions on initial short-term work items in the follow-up to the Indonesian-Swiss country-led initiative to improve the effectiveness of the Basel Convention.
30- وقدم السيد البرتو كابرا (الأرجنتين)، بصفته الرئيس المشارك لفريق الخبراء العامل، تقريراً عن التقدم المحرز في إطار ولاية الفريق لمواصلة وضع وتنفيذ الإجراءات بشأن عناصر العمل الأولية على المدى القصير في متابعة المبادرة القطرية الإندونيسية السويسرية لتحسين فعالية اتفاقية بازل.

The Indonesian-Swiss country-led initiative (CLI) process was initiated by Indonesia and Switzerland in response to a statement made by the President of the Ninth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Basel Convention. The President encouraged Parties to explore ways of furthering the objectives of the Ban Amendment.
استهلت إندونيسيا وسويسرا عملية المبادرة القطرية الإندونيسية السويسرية استجابة لبيان ألقاه رئيس الاجتماع التاسع لمؤتمر الأطراف في اتفاقية بازل.() وشجع الرئيس الأطراف على استكشاف وسائل لتحقيق أهداف التعديل المتعلق بالحظر.
