3. Regrets that the goal of 50/50 gender distribution will not be met by the year 2000, and urges the Secretary-General to intensify his efforts to realize significant progress towards this goal by the end of 2000;
٣ - تأسف ﻷن نسبة اﻟ ٥٠/٥٠ المستهدفة لتوزيع الجنسين لن تتحقق بحلول عام ٢٠٠٠، وتحث اﻷمين العام على تكثيف جهوده ﻹحراز تقدم كبير نحو بلوغ هذا الهدف قبل نهاية عام ٢٠٠٠؛

6. Requests the Secretary-General, in order to achieve and maintain the goal of 50/50 gender distribution with full respect for the principle of equitable geographical distribution, in conformity with Article 101, paragraph 3, of the Charter:
6 - تطلب إلى الأمين العــام أن يقـوم بما يلي بغية تحقيق نسبة الـ 50/50 المستهدفة لتوزيع الجنسين والمحافظة عليها، مع الاحترام التام للتوزيع الجغرافي العادل، وفقا للفقرة 3 من المادة 101 من الميثاق:

Welcoming the progress made in improving the representation of women at the D-1 level but concerned that the representation of women at the senior and policy-making levels remains significantly below the goal of 50/50 gender distribution at these levels,
وإذ ترحب بالتقدم المحرز في تحسين تمثيل المرأة في الوظائف من الرتبة مد-١ وما فوقها، وإن كان القلق يساورها ﻷن تمثيل المرأة في رتب الموظفين اﻷقدم والرتب المتصلة بتقرير السياسات ما زال أدنى بكثير من نسبة اﻟ ٥٠/٥٠ المستهدفة لتوزيع الجنسين في هذه الرتب،

In the 1999 report of the Secretary-General on the composition of the Secretariat (A/54/279 and Corr.1), the Office of Human Resources Management estimated that the Secretariat would not reach the goal of 50/50 gender distribution in the Professional and higher categories before the year 2012 (see para. 46).
13 - وقدر مكتب الموارد البشرية، في تقرير عام 1999 للأمين العام عن تكوين الأمانة (A/54/279 و Corr.1) أن الأمانة العامة لم تحقق نسبة الـ 50/50 المستهدفة لتوزيع الجنسين في الفئة الفنية والفئات الأعلى قبل عام 2012 (انظر الفقرة 46).
