His country commended the work and endorsed the recommendations of the Special Rapporteur on the question of the use of mercenaries. It was to be hoped that such pernicious practices could be stopped by the end of the century.

47. As for the State party's claim that 18 of the 22 recommendations made by the Special Rapporteur on the question of torture had been fully implemented, he was curious to know which four recommendations had not, in its view, been fully implemented.

26. The Special Rapporteur on the question of torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment was to be commended for drawing attention in his report (A/55/290) to the links between torture and poverty.

The increasing use of mercenaries and child soldiers by private forces and terrorist groups was a source of serious concern and his delegation agreed with the recommendations made by the Special Rapporteur on the question of mercenaries, in particular with regard to the need for legal measures to combat that problem.
٥٢ - وذكر أن التوسع في استخدام المرتزقة والجنود من اﻷطفال من جانب القوات الخاصة والجماعات اﻹرهابية هو مبعث قلق شديد، وقال إن وفده يوافق على توصيات المقرر الخاص بشأن مسألة المرتزقة، وخاصة فيما يتعلق بضرورة اتخاذ تدابير قانونية للتصدي لهذه المشكلة.

69. The representative of Finland had misled the Committee by stating that Uzbekistan had not followed the recommendations of the Special Rapporteur on the question of torture, when 20 out of the 22 recommendations had been implemented, and the report (E/CN.4/2003/68/Add.2) circulated widely.

With regard to the situation of persons detained in Kosovo, the Special Rapporteur has already taken note of the letter of 21 July 1994 sent by the Special Rapporteur on the question of torture to the Government of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, listing a large number of recently received allegations concerning cases of torture and severe ill-treatment reported to have occurred in that country.

8. During the session of the Working Group on the issue of discrimination against women in law and in practice, held on 17 and 18 January 2013, a preliminary discussion was held with the Special Rapporteur on the issue of gender equality and freedom of religion and belief.
8- وخلال دورة الفريق العامل المعني بمسألة التمييز ضد المرأة في القانون والممارسة، المعقودة في 17 و18 كانون الثاني/يناير 2013، أُجريت مناقشة أولية مع المقرر الخاص بشأن مسألة المساواة بين الجنسين وحرية الدين والمعتقد.

12. On 17 and 18 January 2013, during the session of the Working Group on the issue of discrimination against women in law and in practice, the Working Group had a preliminary discussion with the Special Rapporteur on the issue of gender equality and freedom of religion and belief.
