Parties that have not yet done so are encouraged to develop or update their national profile for chemicals management in order to identify their national priorities in that area and to integrate issues relating to the implementation of the Rotterdam Convention into those national profiles (as provided for in decision INC-10/7, paragraph 8);

(b) National profiles on chemicals management have been developed or are under development in a broad range of countries. Such profiles are a good starting point in assessing the needs of countries in the implementation of the Rotterdam Convention.
