The Committee recommends that existing legislation be reviewed so as to make sterilization of mentally disabled children require the intervention of the courts, and that care and counselling services be provided to ensure that this intervention is in accordance with the provisions of the Convention, especially article 3 on the best interests of the child and article 12.
وتوصي اللجنة بأن يعاد النظر في التشريع القائم لجعله يستلزم تدخل المحاكم في مسألة تعقيم الأطفال المعوقين عقلياً، وتوصي بتوفير خدمات الرعاية والارشاد لضمان أن يكون هذا التدخل وفقاً لأحكام الاتفاقية، وبخاصة المادة 3 المتعلقة بمصالح الطفل الفضلى والمادة 12.

Lastly, regarding the best interests of the child, which must have the highest priority of all, she would like to see all persons responsible for taking decisions affecting children, especially teachers and magistrates, receive thorough training in child psychology.
وأخيراً، فيما يتعلق بمصالح الطفل الفضلى، التي يجب أن تكون لها أعلى اﻷولويات، قالت إنها تحب أن يتلقى جميع اﻷشخاص المسؤولين عن اتخاذ القرارات المؤثرة على اﻷطفال، ولا سيما المعلمين والقضاة تدريباً كاملاً في علم النﱠفس الخاص باﻷطفال.
