94. The worsening human rights situation in Guatemala, three years after the signing of the Peace Agreements, gives cause for concern.

The Commission requested the Secretary—General, inter alia, to send a mission to Guatemala at the end of 1997 to submit a report to the Commission at its fifty—fourth session on the evolution of the situation of human rights in Guatemala in the light of the implementation of the peace agreements.
