Accordingly, the Special Committee was given the additional mandate to study the information transmitted to the United Nations by the administering Power on developments in the Non-Self-Governing Territories.

IV. examination of information and technical data submitted by the applicant

3. In examining the information received, the Committee shall take into account any observations which may have been submitted by the State party concerned, as well as any other relevant information available to it.

Under article 8, paragraph 1, of the Optional Protocol, if the Committee receives reliable information indicating grave or systematic violations by a State Party of rights set forth in the Convention, it shall invite that State Party to cooperate in the examination of the information and submit observations with regard to these observations.
36 - إذا تلقت اللجنة معلومات موثوق بها تشير إلى حصول انتهاكات خطيرة ومنظمة من جانب دولة طرف للحقوق المبينة في الاتفاقية، تدعو اللجنة تلك الدولة الطرف بموجب الفقرة 1 من المادة 8 من البروتوكول الاختياري إلى التعاون في مجال دراسة المعلومات الواردة عليها وتقديم ملاحظاتها بخصوص تلك المعلومات.

3. In examining the information received, the Committee shall take into account any observations which may have been submitted by the State party concerned, as well as any other relevant information available to it.
