After considering the report now before the Committee, the Economic and Social Council had adopted resolution 1997/67 of 25 July 1997, in which it requested the Secretary-General to submit to the General Assembly at its fifty-third session, through the Council, a report on the implementation of the resolution.
٣ - واختتمت كلامها قائلة إن المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي اعتمد، بعد أن نظر في التقرير المعروض على اللجنة، القرار ٧٩٩١/٧٦ المؤرخ ٥٢ تموز/يوليه ٧٩٩١، الذي طلب فيه إلى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثالثة والخمسين، من خلال المجلس، تقريرا عن تنفيذ هذا القرار.

29. On 23 July 1993, on the recommendation of the Commission, the Economic and Social Council adopted resolution 1996/10 on the role of criminal law in the protection of the environment, in which it requested the Secretary-General to seek the views of Member States in order to determine the feasibility of establishing appropriate machinery for applying criminal law for the protection of the environment.

Activities in the field of electoral assistance have been carried out by the Electoral Assistance Division in response to General Assembly resolution 46/137 and its successive resolutions, namely, resolutions 47/130 and 47/138, 48/131, 49/190 and 50/185, in which it requested the Secretary-General to provide the Division with adequate resources to carry out its mandate.

On 30 July, the Security Council held a formal meeting and adopted unanimously resolution 1363 (2001), requesting the Secretary-General to establish, within 30 days, a monitoring mechanism to ensure the effective implementation of the measures imposed by resolutions 1267 (1999) and 1333 (2000).
وفي 30 تموز/يوليه، عقد مجلس الأمن جلسة رسمية واعتمد بالإجماع القرار 1363 (2001)، الذي طلب فيه إلى الأمين العام أن يشكل، في غضون 30 يوما، آلية رصد لضمان التنفيذ الفعّال للتدابير المفروضة بموجب القرارين 1267 (1999) و 1333 (2000).

2. On 15 February, the President of the Security Council had issued a statement on behalf of the Council requesting the Secretary-General " to follow closely the situation in Lebanon and to report urgently on the circumstances, causes and consequences of this terrorist act " .
