Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 56/241 of 24 December 2001, the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) conducted an audit of the policies and procedures for recruiting staff for the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.

1. Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 56/241, the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) conducted an audit of the policies and procedures for recruiting staff for the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.

The Secretary-General is also pleased to note that the Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the Office of Human Resources Management are working together to improve the policies and procedures for recruiting international civilian staff for field missions.
