(a) The Centre's accounts are maintained in accordance with the Financial Regulations of the United Nations as adopted by the General Assembly, the rules formulated by the Secretary-General as required under the regulations, and administrative instructions issued by the Under-Secretary-General for Administration and Management or the Controller, and in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles.
