The Committee recommends that the State party establish an independent and effective national mechanism that fully conforms with the Paris Principles and reflects the Committee's general comment No. 2 (2002) on the role of independent human rights institutions in the promotion and protection of the rights of the child, that is mandated to monitor the implementation of the Convention and its Optional Protocols.

It is continuing to study the experience and practice of other countries in the establishment and operation of independent human rights institutions that comply with the Paris Principles, including from the viewpoint of improving existing human rights institutions where possible.
